FFM (ACA) Open Enrollment Period

Open Enrollment is the time each year when individuals and families can enroll in health insurance coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace or renew their existing coverage for the upcoming year.

If you do not currently have Marketplace coverage, Open Enrollment is your opportunity to apply for coverage for 2027. If you are already enrolled, it is important to update and renew your Marketplace application annually to ensure your household and income information is current, determine your eligibility for the Advance Premium Tax Credit (APTC), and review your health plan options for 2027.

2027 Open Enrollment Dates

December 15, 2026 – Recommended Deadline

Enroll in or make changes to your plan by December 15 for coverage to begin January 1, 2027. We strongly encourage both existing and new clients to complete their Marketplace application and plan selection by December 15. Completing the process by this date helps ensure your new coverage is in place when the new year begins and avoids a potential gap in coverage.

January 15, 2027 – Final Open Enrollment Deadline

If you miss the December 15 deadline, you still have time to enroll. Applications and plan selections completed between December 16 and January 15 can generally begin coverage February 1, 2027.

Don’t Wait Until the Last Minute

While January 15 is the official end of Open Enrollment, December 15 is the deadline we encourage our clients to work toward to avoid a gap in coverage.
